Healing – the ability to serve as human intermediaries through whom God cures illness and restores health apart from the use of natural means
The gift of healing is a controversial gift in this day and age. Certainly there are some people who take advantage of others by manufacturing healings, but true healings do in fact happen. Some things to recognize are that miraculous healing only occurs within the limits of God’s will and only if it will bring glory to God and grow His church. God will often use medical science to bring about healing in a person through the gifts and talents that he has given to others such as doctors and research scientists.
There are many accounts of Jesus healing the sick or lame in the gospel. Often the gift of faith and the gift of healing go hand in hand.
"Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. She said to herself, ‘If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.’ Jesus turned and saw her. ‘Take heart, daughter,’ he said, ‘your faith has healed you.’ And the woman was healed from that moment.
